Rick Bossom has been sharing his love of music since 1982 and has been teaching at Long & McQuade since 2011. With over 6,000 live performances to his name, Rick brings a deep well of experience—from writing catchy radio jingles and pop songs to composing soundtracks and landing a publishing deal for his debut CD.
Whether you're just starting out or looking to take your skills to the next level, Rick’s lessons are all about making music fun, relaxed, and personal. As a multi-instrumentalist, he offers instruction on piano, guitar, and bass guitar, helping students discover their musical voice and enjoy playing—solo or with others.
Rick focuses on ear training, improvisation, reading music, and encouraging students to put their own spin on songs. His teaching style is supportive and engaging, tailored to suit all levels and learning styles.
For more advanced students, Rick dives deeper into improvisation, chord charts, song structure, boogie woogie, and the role of keyboards in rock and pop bands. He also offers hands-on guidance in MIDI sequencing and hard disk recording, opening up creative possibilities for music production.
